If there is a webpage you are using that requires Java, you should keep in mind that the new Java 7 is incompatible with some wepages and programs. For those you should install Java SE 6 Update 35 JRE at the bottom of this page: http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/index.html

Released on August 30, 2012, Update 35 is the most recent version of Java SE 6 available at this time.
