Java graph in IE Browser

February 11, 2009 at 01:53:36
Specs: Windows XP Pro
On WinXP Pro Laptop using IE browser to view a site, a small JAVA graph fills its frame with solid black. It used to work on the same computer and the graph shows up on other computers. What could be the problem? (I already removed old version and installed new version of JAVA (build .012) and checked Java permissions on the browser.)
I don't know where to check next.
Thanks for any tips you can give.
Ruth

Hi, I checked the AddOns for Java and it was the same as another computer without the problem. I'll check the Shockwave.
I'll let you know.
Thanks, Bryan.

Bryan,
I checked the AddOns, both are there and enabled. I updated the Shockwave install for good measure.
I checked troubleshooting on the Java site, also checking display and graphics settings on the computer. I checked the source code for the site and it is clearly a java graphic as appears on MY computer. It's not an IE problem apparently as I have run it in FireFox and the same black fill appears.I turned off Windows firewall and finally received the java error msg....which tells ME nothing. "load: class com.objectplanet.chart.ChartApplet not found.
java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: com.objectplanet.chart.ChartApplet
and so on......
Thanks
Ruth
