Is Java working? It shouldn't prevent you installing it.

You should be able to disregard the fact that it is not supported - see this:
https://www.java.com/en/download/fa...

I've never needed Java support in my life, same goes for Windows support.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

It was my understanding that versions of java 8.xx etc would still work on windows xp. Is it a work computer, if so maybe your employer has blocked it for security issues related to java?

Yes, it certainly runs on XP. Probably just another security warning to try to move you on, as per my link in #1.

If by any chance it won't run the new version there is a list of old ones to try here (see also View more):

EDIT
As you were so desperate why have you not come back to us?

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

While Java 8 may run on XP (Update 25 and later), Java 7 (Update 79) is still available:

Run Java 7 (Update 79) on your XP. I use it myself. It works way better than any other Java versions. It should work on your PC like an angel lol
