java applets in iis

I can't seem to see my java applets through the iis web server for windows xp. I can view it just fine from the local hard drive, but when i view from web site it does not show up. Any thoughts?

yes the java vm is installed and I can view the applet using ie but not through the iis web server.

but java has nothing whatsoever to do with servers, it's client based, if the java plugin is installed, your browser will see it. maybe the problem is your security settings. if you simply open a html page with java applets in it, it will open, because the security settings of internet explorer don't apply for local pages, but if you go through the server, IE will think that you access the internet, and then the security settings kick in. try to lower the settings to a minimum and try again
