I updated my Java 2 Runtime and since then it shows the space used is 66.67 MB...so I uninstalled it and went into my registry and manually deleted it. I then reinstalled it and when I did it now shows I am using 107.00 MB. It concerned me because I am only using 139.00MB with my Windows Pro XP. Is there something I can do to see if there are files left behind? I used RegSeekers and searched for “Java” and it came up with 441 entries. I thought I would go through it and see if there are any duplicated files. If there are can I delete the duplicated ones? It shows a Java and Sun folder in my Windows folder and a Java folder in my Programs folder. I also see JVM in my registry. My system shows I have 152MB used and 327MB available under system in the DirectX Diagnostic Tool window. My Local C Drive shows I have 4.04GB free space out of 6.96GB. Any help you can give me would be appreciated. I have searched the Java web site and can’t find any help at all. If there is something you need from my computer please give me instruction on how to provide you with that. Oh I have also ran AVG (no viruses), Ad-adware and RegSupreme.
Thank you…Jackie

Mine takes up 66.69 mb in the Program folder, so your first install was correct.

When I updated I couldn't get the Java icon to open in my control panel. So I am thinking it was corrupted. Now everything is working fine but it seems like a large folder to me. I haven't had a chance to check for double files but if there are any is it safe to delete them. I printed the Java scan from RegSeeker and it was 16 pages long. Does that seem normal? Should I have more than one folder on my computer that is titled Java?
Thank you...Jackie

I have this in Program Files\Common Files\Java
I have this in Programs\Java
I have this in WINDOWS\Sun\JavaThat's it...
Iligitimi non carborundum est

I have it located in the following:
Program Files\Java (7/8/04)
Program Files\Common Files\Java (7/8/04)
Windows/Java (5/25/03)
Windows/Sun/Java (8/14/03}In looking I found another file in Program Files/Java(2). It was exactly the same as the other one so I deleted it. I think it was the old update from before. Your help has been very helpful. Hopefully this will make a difference for me.
Thanks..Jackie
