Download TweakUI from Microsoft and install it. The location of the file is a little bit down the page that opens when you click on the blue Microsoft.

Open TweakUIXP and click on Explorer on the left pane and put a checkmark on Clear Documents history on exit on the right pane.

Now whenever you log off and back on, you will see that the documents history, Run dialog history, etc. will be gone.

An alternative is CCleaner Lite (free) which will clear a lot of other stuff too.
It has tick box options.

Having said that, the TweakUI clear on Exit might still suit you better because you don't have to remember to run anything once set.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

or option 3 right click on the bottom task bar and pick properties, click Start Menu tab, then the customize buttom, the Advanced tab...then click the "Clear List" button....that will eliminate recently opened documents and things under the run command.
