I`ve also had some fun with converting drives, changing O/S etc.
What operating system are you running?. There may be a way around your problem. Send me an e-mail with as much detail as possible.ie Operating System details mainly, what the computer actually does when you start up, how far it gets in the boot up.

Live and learn. I bet you won't do that again. This can be a tough one. About the only thing I can think of to get you back would be to do a parrallel install of w2k or XP. Install another version of the OS and put it in a different folder so you have a dual boot. Once booted to the new OS as Administrator, you can access the Windows folder (or Winnt folder) of the old OS and reset the permissions back to where they were originally. Then you should be able to boot back into the first OS. After that you can remove the second OS and you're all set.
Fun huh?

When i start the computer I get the XP-logo and then I see a blue xp screen showing something like: "cannot run (or find) autochk.exe... "
and then I get another blue screen showing something like "unrepairable error (a lot of numbers) The system is now shut down."
I've pressed F8 while startup and tried all the options, not one of them worked... Isn't there a way i can Boot as Administrator???
