iTunes 4.5 crashing on playback

After installing itunes 4.5, i tried to see if mytunes would work with it. I found that it didnt so uninstalled it. AFter uninstalling mytunes, itunes strated crashing. The program loads fine, but anytime, an attempt is made to play any song in the library, itunes crashes. I tried uninstalling and installing 4.2, uninstalling and reinstalling, but it keeps crashing on playback.
Any suggestions?
