My desktop was running win2000. It started having isp connect problems. It connects verifs password then comes up unable to establish connection. The account is ok as I currently use my laptop to connect to that account. The modem is ok check it on my laptop.

So I upgraded to XP, thinking it will reload all o/s software. Same problem.

I have removed tcpip and reinstalled, check settings agsainst my laptop also running xp.

Have connect manually through hyperterminal. Same result on desktop as on laptop !!

I beleive it is something in the registry.
Anyone have any ideas as Ive been trying to fix for about 3 weeks..

Is the "include windows logon domain" option disabled within your ISP dial-up connection?

You can remove and reinstall dial-up networking and see if that helps.
