Hello,

I'm seeing the following error message

Isass.exe - System error
An I/O operation initiated by the Registry failed unrecoverably. The Registry couldn't readin, write out or flush one of the files that contain the system's image of the registry.

If you hit the ok button the system will reboot .. it seems pretty far along in the boot cycle .. like close to the user login.
Is this something that can be cleared up with a repair from a cdrom boot of XP? I can't believe this is a virus problem being my system is protected and I was using my pc prior to this ...this happened after a power loss shut down my PC. The system doesn't seem to have any hardware problems.

Thanks

Thanks Sabertooth

I was trying to find where that file exist because a friend told me that sometime ago there was a problem maybe/maybe not virus related but if you can find and remove the file you system may boot to where you can copy files off .. I'm having a hard time believing that this is a result of a virus ... I mean I have the firewalls and the latest antivirus s/w
how is this possible???
