ok 2 part question.
1. I had 2000 ran it for about 3 years no problem til I had the blue screen of death lost the boot to my hard drive (30G) so added a 200G drive. (30G is still master and slaved the 200G). ok now I have a server running Serv-U which was no problem when I was running 2000. I've just noticed how things are choppy almost like the cpu is stuttering trying to keep up with simple tasks like scrolling through the start menu.
and question 2
I've created 2 users both admins (me & my wife) installed AIM under her account and when I delete the icon off of my desktop it deletes it from her desktop, same goes for a vpn connection I made on my desktop, when switch to her user and delete it from her desktop it's gone frome mine?
thanks.
Tony

[AIM desktop icon question]:
Since you are both Admins, you just need to worry about where installers put desktop and start menu shortcuts. You may want to copy "All User" icons to each of your accounts.

"C:\Documents and Settings\YourUserName\Start Menu"
"C:\Documents and Settings\WifeUserName\Start Menu"
"C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu"

"C:\Documents and Settings\YourUserName\Desktop"
"C:\Documents and Settings\WifeUserName\Desktop"
"C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Desktop"

You can disable transition effects--but I forget if this affects all users or only the current one:
Control Panel > System > Advanced > [Performance] Settings > Custom...

You can also disable unnecessary services if you visit www.blackviper.com
