Hello, I'd like to upgrade my SP2 of Win XP MCE SP2 to Service Pack 3 so, is that service pack is better or should I keep SP2 ?

I'm using my pc as home computer so, does that new service pack make improvements or it has disadvantages like Vista ?

Thanks

If you do, keep this post in mind. SP3 sometimes just doesn't like some machines.

I've read the issues it seems that it's related to certain motherboards - ASUS - but, My motherboard is an old intel MBoard it's model is D845PESV, and I think that I've upgraded my pc in a long period i.e it won't be problem if I try the SP3. Thanks for this important notice.

"Seems as though there are issues with some HP computers running AMD processors and possibly with certain ASUS MBoards"

The problem is related to the OS image that was used by OEMs to install XP...if the image was created on an Intel system & then reimaged onto an AMD system, there have been problems. It is NOT a hardware issue & has nothing to do with AMD CPUs.

As for problems with ASUS boards, there is only one model mentioned - ASUS A8N32-SLI Deluxe.

Go ahead & install SP3.

There is very little in SP3 that will enhance the user experience. Its just an amalgamation of security updates hot fixes and patches. If you have live update on it will be downloaded by default. For those that have live update on auto prior to SP3 the updates were downloaded in increments.

Sorry, I didn't recognize all what you said, but, I think I'll give it a try, cause, Vista made me mad when tried it on my pc, it's much slow, buggy and also, doesn't give any support to my old games that I was playing on XP.

Thanks for explaining.
