All DVD-ROM, CD-ROM, CD-RW & DVD-RW drives use a generic driver. It's the software used to view/listen that varies. It can be supplied by the manufacturer or be produced by 3rd party vendors. If you are having driver problems with your DVD-ROM device the easiest way to install drivers is to go to START, CONTROL PANEL, SYSTEM, HARDWARE, DEVICE MANAGER and remove the DVD-ROM, re-boot and let windows reload the drivers.
