Hi All

I want to use an old PC as a print server. All I need on it is a very basic version of XP, and remote desktop for troubleshooting. Is this possible?

Cheers

Drew

I have had XP Pro running on a 100MHz P1 / 64MB of ram and a 1.7GB HDD. It wasnt hugely slow, it was useable for e-mail and Internet hell it even played MP3's ok : ) but I am sure it would work fine if it was just going to be a print server. Not playing around I am sure a 200Mhz / 128Mb /4Gb computer could handle being a print server just fine under XP. So a 400Mhz / 256 machine should do fine...
OH, my family PC is a 400MHz Celeron /256Mb/15Gb has 6 users and cops a fair amount of use for internet, music, games etc and it seems to handle it fine. SO as I said you should be fine.
