Hi everybody,
I've a question. Is it really possible to speed up the NET connection By using any software? Please let me know.... Any tip is welcomed. Thanking you;
Nemo.

Nemo:
If you're speaking of a dial-up connection, the answer is not much. A 56kbps modem is capped by your ISP at around 53kbps. A high Ghz CPU and large RAM add a bit to overall performance.
There are some ISPs using a special kind of 'caching' to increase your surfing speed on the Net. I've only heard from a couple of people about the results. One said he didn't notice a lot of improvement, the other thought his surfing speed substantially improved.
Obviously, no two computers will perform exactly alike, even with similar components. There are too many other variables which can be tweaked.
Your fastest connection would be cable or DSL (and if you've got BIG bucks, a T1).
As far as a simple software fix for higher surfing speeds, I wish someone would point me to it. I've tried a couple and was disappointed.
Others may had better results. Let's see who posts. 8-)

Actually I don't use any DIAL-UP connection. I use a shared broad-band connection.
well, I heard about Internet Turbo .... Is it good?? Does anybody know??

Nemo:
In your post, you didn't mention the type of connection used.
Broad-band, with a well-tweaked box, is pretty fast in itself. Haven't had personal experience with Internet Turbo, so I can't say.
Someone on the forum will, though. 8-)

Sorry Solarian. Ok, now I'm giving my details. Actually my connection is shared one. There are 100 users my ISP have. We all share the net from them. I don't know the exact bandwidth of them. The said that is 512 KB/s. Sometimes I get 50 - 100 Kb/s download speed while downloading with DAP.
But most of the times I get 10 - 20 KB/s speed.I don't know if there is any application which can Improve the speed of the NET.
If anybody knows please let me know.
Thanks everybody ....... :D
