Help! I have 2 hard drives, one a 40 gig and the other a 10 gig. On the 40 gig, I have 2 partitions wih XP on "C" partition. I want to re-install XP because I have a few hangups which are driving me crazy. Is it possible to do that without losing files ( I don't care about programs)? Thanks for any help!

You better first store your files that you don't want to loose in your 2nd partition. (don't forget drivers from any hardware you have and updates of them too and also email-adresses etc..!) After you're sure you have ev'rything you need.., then do a clean install of XP cause if you re-install over the old one...you'll also take over some bad things too and then after a short while it'll be the same again.
Doing a "repair" of XP using the recovery console installs XP over itself without losing your installed programs. This article shows how: http://www.webtree.ca/windowsxp/repair_xp.htm

Simply choose the Upgrade option when re-installing XP; that will preserve your personal files and programs.
