Is Internet Explorer refrashing itself every x minutes ???

This is really bothering me because i got a 1 tb email account (www.hriders.com) and when i upload big files i suddenly come and the page is refreshed.

Is IE refreshing itself? is there anyway to stop it because there is nothing at the Internet Options menu about self refreshing...

Thanks...

This post is a little confusing (probably the reason it hasn't had a reply yet). I think you are referring to two different issues and I am not sure how you think they are related.

I guess I don't follow how IE refreshing is tied to your Email account and whatever problems it may be causing, but here is my attempt at a reply as I see it.

IE doesn't usually refresh ever x minutes on its own. The META-REFRESH is something that is usually coded into the HTML of the web page and causes the page to Re-load. If you think that you are having an issue with your IE refreshing all the time, then I must ask, does it happen on other pages too? or just on the email site? If it's just on the email site then I would suggest that maybe there is a problem with the web site.

If IE is refreshing at set intervals all the time regardless of the page that it is on, then I would check to see if you have some sort of browser hijack or spyware running on your system.

Hope that helps!

I dont seem to have the problem with any other websites becuase it does not happen very often.

I read somewhere "IE refreshes to keep you updated with the latest conetents on the web" such as news.

So r u sure it has to be written to the html of the website to refresh every x minutes?

It does not seem i have hijackers or somthing

I think the topics you are referring to in your last post, is the fact that quite frequently IE will check for new content on an initial page load and other settings like the ability to keep history for x days or to dump cache&history each time IE closes/opens.

But like you, I have not seen any configurable setting for IE to continually refresh a page ever x minutes while the browser is loaded.

I of coarse couldn't be certain that the refresh issue is in the HTML source code, but it sounds plausible to me without knowing some additional details.

I would try seeing if there is any online/email support for the email service you are using and see if they have any suggestions or information on "refreshing" issues.

Sorry I couldn't be of more help :(

IE does not refresh itself at any page, unless you press F5 key. By any chance are you using a third party software like this one?
