Comment:

I have a brand new system.
I've noticed when gaming that when the HD is loading I hear a static pop through my sound card and the video freezes for a moment.
This doesn't occur in all games: namely Half-Life 2 and MS Train Simulator.
This machine isn't exactly state of the art but I'd like to think it's decent enough to run games smoothly.
I understand that XP shares IRQs but was wondering if someone could look at mine and provide any suggestions or other ideas.
Thanks!

this "pop" sound is either bad speakers/speaker connection OR a driver problem. Since this happens only on a few games I would make sure ALL the drivers are up to date for your hardware including chipset, video and sound. If it still happens, check the website of the game manufacturer and see if there are any updates for it. If there is...install those and see if it goes away, if not try an uninstall and reinstall of the game. let me know if this helps.

You are missing IRQ 15 Secondary IDE Channel.

Do you not have anything on Secondary IDE ?

I thought this was odd too.
I have a DVD burner on the primary IDE and a SATA hard disc which I think is on either IRQ 19 or 20????

Can anyone verify whether or not this IRQ setup is kosher???

Thanks.
