Hi, this is my first post here at computing.net.
I am posting it because I've had trouble myself getting to this solution and I want to share it with you.
When I tried to define a properly working IPX protocol in order to play Red Alert 2, I had a lot of difficulties.
NONE of the solution that I saw here and through out the web actually WORKED for me.
I've found a solution that ** ACTUALLY WORKS ** .
Yes, thats right. All I had to do is to install the GIT (Gamer's Internet Tunnel) software ( which you can download FREE from this site:http://www.morpheussoftware.net/git/).
You install it on both computers and it kind of opens a tunnel for IPX GENERIC PROTOCOL over the regular common TCP/IP protocol.
The most complicated thing you need to do is to forward port 213 ( or else as you want to define) and install the software on the computers you want to play on a multiplayer game.
I Hope I helped cause I was searching for an answer my self for a long time...
Oren Hafif,
Israel.
I can only shre my knowledge.
