iPod songs consuming too much memor

I recently bought an iPod but when I imports songs, they are taking too much memory. I have 200 songs and it has consumed 4 Gb of memory. I know there is something wrong with this, but I dont know how to resolve the problem. Can anyone help me please, thanks in advanced. Jorge Fernandez

It has consumed 4 gigs of iPod storage space not memory. Ram is memory which apparently you have 512 megs. There is nothing wrong with it, so do not worry... Boycott James Hardie Products.
