ipod freezes

CPU/Ram: athlon 2gb

I have an ipod problem when connecting 2 xp.xp recognises ipod in my computer but when click on it it freezes with message saying my computer is not responsing the same goes in device driver. I have all the lastest update from itunes, usb2 it so annoying because a friend of mine has mac and works fine any of u knowledgeable people out there got any suggestion Thanks

Check Disk Management. Assign a different drive letter to the iPod and see if that helps.
