I want to spoof my ip address of my home computer so that i can access my home ISP usenet server from a different computer/ISP. Does anyone know how i can do this? One computer is running XP Home and the other is running XP Pro. Or does anyone have a less messy solution like a freeware version of pcanyware or something like that where i can connect to the desktop remotely? But i'd prefer if i could connect to the server directly from my computer not at home. Thanks.

Spoofing your IP is considered unseemly at best and possibly criminal at worst. There are many new laws to punish hackers and such, so I would advice against it.
You can use Remote Desktop on the XP Pro computer to access it remotely and connect to the Usenet groups on the computer. If you are behind a router you will need to forward port 3389 to that computer. Or you can get VNC which is freeware and install it on either machine.
Lastly, you may be able to connect to the Usenet groups from outside your ISP by configuring the application you are using with your username and password.

Fezlum:
Have you tried just setting up the computer (the one not at home) with the exact same setup you use at home, newserver, username, password. Maybe they do not check IP addresses.

Long as your not illegaly performing this on other peoples pc's.
I agree VNC Server and VNC Viewer, like I said before. Why buy when its free :) This method would allow you to set a password to log into a pc remotely via internet or network.
It also allows you to access settings take control of mouse keyboard, disable loading of backgrounds, or watch remotely with pc video cams for personal security purposes.
If you get a glitch in your OS though your probably out of luck since you cant fix the problem when your not directly in front of it. :)
If you have money to burn there are many better Softwares, Like PC ANYWHERE, there are also local state laws, in some states which it is illegal to perform certain operations with certain functions from 1 pc to another it's listed in licences with more expensive products. Also I will not coment on simpler methods, as they could be used unethically.
Sincerely,
Joe Christian

I'm not sure that I quite understand what you are trying to do but this might help.
If you are trying to connect two computers to the same cable ISP by making one computer look like the other then it might be done provided they are not used at the same time to connect to the ISP. Your computer is probably recognised by your ISP by the Network Interface Card's physical (MAC) address and not by the IP which is provided by the ISP anyway. You can easily spoof the MAC as reported by Windows so that both computers report the same address. In XP it is easiest done using a program called SMAC. You can get it from http://www.klcconsulting.net/smac/
You can find the MAC of your computers by typing ipconfig/all from the DOS prompt.
I hope this helps.

Thanks everyone else for your help, except for J_Squared who apparently didn't read i was on a different ISP. I'll try VNC (do you know what ports it uses?), but i'd rather not do this since the computer at home is being used once in a while. I know its a pretty bad request, but would anyone be so kind as to link me or send me (an email would be fine) a howto for ipspoofing considering the fact i actually own both computers. But i understand if that's out of the question. Thanks.
