I.P. address is 0.0.0. after installing XP"
When installing XP it left 98 on the board. I now have 2 operating systems 98se xp pro. I have plenty of harddrive so this may not be a problem. I never seen an opition to Clean and Install. But anyways I cannot connect to the internet using XP. My device manger is blank. It says my ip address is 0.0.0.0. I have comcast cable internet. After 2 trieswith comcast support here I am. HELP

First go into device manager and see if there is a problem with your network card. Then go to the run command and type CMD, in the new window type PING 127.0.0.1 this if you get a reply your network software (protocols) are okay. If you boot into 98 can it get online? If you have a router try pinging it's IP address. Try renewing your IP address at the command prompt by typing ipconfig/renew

Thanks Jay we tried all that with the Comcast tech. I think my site addministrater (me) may have something turned off to allow me to make these change. I went to services and it looked like I may need to enable some of that. I just not sure which ones I should have enabled.
