When I try to play most discs on my drive I get an error saying "d:\ drive is not accessible. The request could not be performed because of a I/O device error." With some video CDs I can see the files in explorer, but that's all. Windows says my drive is working fine, the troubleshooter can't do anything about it and there are no other drivers I could use. I've tried reinstalling the drivers that came with the laptop origionally, but they won't work. The drive's worked fine for over a year and there's been nothing updated that could've messed with it or any of the settings and no one else has had access to my laptop to change anything, please help!

Other than cleaning the laser lens, you'll need a new drive.

I agree with the above post.

It doesn't matter. If cleaning the laser lens does not help, accept it as a mechanical failure.
