First off, I get this error while my MP3 player is plug in the USB and tried to copy MP3 files to the player, and have the I/O device error, that cannot copy. The request could not be performed because of an I/O device error. Now, I found a way to get some files onto the player from the CD's. Now I'm getting the same error when I try to burn a CD....and had never had that problem before when burning CD's....Can anyone tell me what the hell is "I/O device error"? There's nothing to alert me in the device manager! What am I suppose to do? I've always check for windows updates....

yep, tried it on my son's laptop, WinXP and had no problem in copying mp3 files to the portable device.
And now he left home for college.

As for burning the CD, that's is fix now...thanks to Norton Anti-Virus 2004 that was giving me the problems of burning CD's and to open WinAmp 5.0...I uninstalled the anti-virus program and reinstall the older version that I had, 2002, and renewed my subscription and it detected a worm virus. After fixing the problem, I can burn CD's and open up WinAmp.

Still getting the same I/O device error, whether I tried in the Windows explorer, Window Media Player or WinAmp program to "Copy to Device".

I have search Microsoft webpage for the error and mention that I needed to update my OS and to install the critical packages, which I have been doing it faithfully.

What do you think, eh?

Spook
