Windows XP pre-installed
After spending a half hour on it, it shut down, made a wierd clanking noise, does the Compaq startup screen, and then it displayed the message; Invalid System Disk or Disk Error. Please strike any key to continue. I took out SimCity, and hit a key. There was no floppy disk in the floppy drive. However, it just said the same message. I popped in a Recovery CD that came with the computer, and it said it was starting up windows 98. It got to the bottom of the screen, then a red screen popped up saying contact Compaq technical support. As far as I know, there is none now! What do I do?

Sounds like the hard drive died. That is a very old machine btw. I am surprised SimCity installed.

A PC System Error Code & message is a code which describes what’s going on within your computer, and a message which lets you know what the result is due to the error. Sadly, the message won’t contain how to fix System Error. You can try these steps to fix: 1. System Restore. 2. Disk cleanup. 3. Disk Defragment. As for how to do this, please click on this link
