invalid startup directory/check pif file

Specs: Windows xp-32-bit , 2.71 ghz, 2.00 GB of RAM
AREV my orchard accounting program has been altered by a hacker. When I click on my shortcut I get:

"Invalid startup directory, please check your pif file".

When I run "File Cure" it scans with no errors.
Windows xp 32-bit

Help!

Can you run it from within the Program Files... your shortcut may be at fault. Otherwise there is help here: http://www.kennis.co.nz/arev.shtml

Pif is a shortcut to a CD, either put the CD in, or right click on the shortcut & delete.

Now make a new shortcut.

Start > All programs, scroll down to > AREV my orchard accounting program, find the exe, right click on it, select > Send to > Desktop (create shortcut)

Just for clarity, a pif file does not only apply to CD's. Usually it defines how a DOS program should run.
