You need to look at the boot.ini file to see if there is any redundant line of code and delete it.

In Folder Options windows, click View tab->under Advanced Settings, click Show Hidden Files And Folders->clear the Hide File Extensions For Known File Types check box->clear Hide Protected Operating System Files check box. Now, you can see the boot.ini file. Double-click to open it in Notepad. Click the redundant entry and press DEl. Save the file and change your settings back to rehide hidden files and folders, file extensions, and system files.

Before modifying the boot.ini, you should make a copy of it.

Hope this helps. Bye

You might try booting from the Win XP cd and run the Recovery Console. At the command prompt, type in FIXBOOT. Then try booting from your hard drive. The boot.ini file should be fixed.
