Comment:

After manually(sorry!) removing F-secure anti-virus package, also using "rmv.reg"(?), a titled "RUNNER ERROR" message box displays "Invalid BackWeb Application id "137903" " (which could be a name for "hp center") anytime i start a Windows session. For now, i would like to keep the "hp center" on the pc, but i would much more like to understand why this appearing and perhaps how to remove it without surgeoning the register. Read you soon !

Xavier: Backweb is an updater which comes with various HP, Compaq, Logitech, and Kodak software, and it's suspected of "phoning home".

1. try SpyBot S&D which has a fix for Back Web lite.

2. Suspected Adware/Foistware: BackWeb Client

3. click Start, Run, type: msconfig
open Startup tab
find the path that may look like this: c:\progra~1\........\backwe~1.exe.
if this path box is checked - uncheck it.
you could also search your local drive for that file name (backw*.exe).

4. BackWeb-137903 may be found in C:\Program Files\hp center\137903\Program\BackWeb-137903.exe.
one user who deleted it had no problems printing with HP printers.
