internet won't work on password websites

my internet will not let me go to any sites that require a password, yahoo, yahoo mail, ebay, etc. I'm not even sure it will let me come back to this website. When I go to a page to log in it says... Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage

Thanks for your help, but I spent an hour on the phone last night with Norton support and they helped me fix the problem. It was something to do with two conflicting softwares. We uninstalled the virus software and reinstalled it and it works great now
