Hi.. I have had this trouble before. But I recently reformatted my hard drive and installed Zone alarm before even attempting to go online. And this happened the first night and still is like this. So I don’t believe any longer that it is spy ware.. I have not really been to any websites. I have just been testing the system.. .. this is the issue.. when I first log onto XP PRO I can access the net and websites.. no problem. But if I leave the Pc for any extended period of time. I go to access the net and I am locked out. All the previous websites are now just page cannot be displayed. I do not have the XP firewall turned on. I have checked zone alarm settings and it is not locking me out.. but it appears to be a timed out issue and suddenly I am locked out.. as soon as I reboot the Pc and go online I once again have access to the net.. .. does anyone else have this issue ??? or what can it possibly be that locks me out after a while?? .. and yes I have tried all the spyware things as well. Ad aware. Spybot .. etc.. .. again this is a newly formatted drive and I have only been to a couple of sites as a test.. there is definitely something timing out on me but I cannot figure out what. Any ideas???

How do you connect to the Internet? Dial up cable, etc... If it's dial up, right click on your internet connection, go to properties then options. Look at the "Idle Time before hanging up" option.

no i have cable modem.. and it does not timeout.. let me put it this way. i have severalpartitions on my drive.. some of them win 98.. and it NEVER tiems out on those ones.. it is ONLY an issue exclusive to XP
