Internet slow after re-installing

I was having some major problems with Windows so I got out my recovery disk and formatted my C: Drive, reinstalled Windows etc.

Now my internet connection seems really slow. Downloading speed and just general browsing are much slower than normal. I use IE 8 and Firefox 3.0.3.

Any suggestions? :)

make sure that you have updated all your driver files to the latest.

Then remove all the installed crap that came with your computer that is not needed.

Download winpatrol and use it to disable all the unneccasary start-up programs that continue to send information back to the manufacturer.
