Hi, I hope someone can help me. Firstly I am using a broadband connection, which to my understanding means I always have access to the internet. Well over the past couple weeks, I seem to have been losing the internet. I have run spyware programs, virus programs and spybot. I have talked to AOL regarding this and they said its was a spyware problem. I have also deleted all the cache and even defraged last night hoping that would help and nothing has corrected my problem. I have also reset web pages, and have to constantly reset the settings under tools, options, connections. That keeps changing from never dial a connection to dial when needed. It seems like the only way I can access any internet site, other than yahoo (my home page) is thru AOL. I have weather bug and when Im not connected to the AOL I cant see any updates, etc. Once I sign onto AOL it works. I also cannot access Ion Thunder (a game site) from IE either. It takes me to page not found, then after a few seconds goes to incredifind. I tried deleting that too and its not on my computer. How I got onto this site is a miracle. Anyway, I was searching last night in Windows Explorer under Internet explorer and discovered that my "internet signup file" is corrupt. I have also checked in add/remove and IE is not listed in there anymore. I used to have an update in there and now its gone. I tried restoring and it cant restore to the dates I selected. The most current being last Wednesday. I am stuck and hope someone can send me in the right direction. Can/Should I install IE....if so, where might I go to do that. Should I put in SP2? Ok let us first sort out what you have and then we can go from there. Who is your broadband carrier? What do you mean that you have been "losing the internet" exactly? And as you have broadband through one company why are you using AOL? And finally GET RID of weatherbug. This is a malicious adware program that will cause you untold of grief. Hi, Thank you for answering me. My broadband company is Comcast. I just d/l and ran Ad Aware and it got rid of lot of stuff, but still didnt fix my problem. When I open up Internet Explorer from my desktop my Yahoo home page comes up. When I type in the address box say Ion Thunder ( I just did this not more than 5 minutes ago) the page that comes up is This page cant be displayed. Yet at the bottom it says its going to that page. I have had AOL for years and all my mail, friends, favorite places, etc are on aol. There are times when broadband goes out and in order to get to my mail i use the dial up portion of aol. I have heard that from so many people, get rid of weather bug. I like it....is there another program like this one thats free? Thanks for helping me. Nanette

I reinstalled IE6 last night and went back to Windows Explorer to c:Internet explorer and opened connection wizard and double clicked on MSICW and it still says Internet sign up file is corrupt. any suggestions as to how to fix this? thanx nanette
