Well it what it needs to do (Maby 2 scrips) is to create the shortcut when the usesr logs on and delets it when they log off. I do not have a domain or AD, (It has to work Localy) from the start up menu and local group policy. And I do not want to creat the shortcut for all users, so can not use the start up or log in script on group policy, but may be able to use it for log off script to delet the shortcut Thanks.

well I'm not sure but maybe you could create the shortcut and hid in somewhere like say the C:\windows directory. Then create 1 script to copy the file to the desktop and 1 script to delete it. But thinking about it I'm not sure if there is a way to run scripts upon logoff.
If this is going to happen each time why wouldn't you just create a shortcut on this user's desktop (under his profile directory) and then he would be the only one who would see it when he logs it on.
