I have 2 PC's both with WinXP. They are networked through Nic Cards. I connect to the internet using a 56K modum. I am able to connect to the internet on PC#1. When trying to connect on PC#2 I receive this error. Cannot Enable Shared Access Error 1061: The service cannot accept control messages at this time.
Allow other network users to connect through this computer's Internet connection box is checked.

I got the same message while trying to put up the ICS on the 'server' computer. It would be nice to know where the XP messages are explained in more detail. I too am stuck until I get further information. It is really annoying.
I came across the same problem, same error message (but ICS has worked previously). I rebooted the host pc (with the internet connection) and this seems to have 'fixed' it.... On another note (related or not) i have had to enter another MTU value in the registry for the client. It was previously set to 1454 but this size doesn't seem to work and I've had to change to 1450 - ideas anyone ?
