OK, so i finally got a network going in my student house. so far there are only two of us out of six who will all have computers!!

took me about 2 day but i got a network to work between our 2 computers through my 3com router. i had to manually type in the ip address etc.

only problem is now the internet wont shre across the 2 of us, works on mine fine! and if i turn my pc off and reset modem etc it works on his, but we cant get it too share.

wat on earth am i doing wrong!!! does it matter that the wire coming from the modem to the router is a crossover! i cant think of anhing else! help me please!!!!!

Don't quite understand, but you must go from the modem to the router then the router to the machines.

I think it does matter. You should use Cat5 cable instead of crossover cable.
