Netmask: 255.255.255.0
Default gw: 192.168.131.254
DNS Server: 192.168.1.1I cannot connect to the internet. Any help will be highly appreciated

• Shared networking (NAT). Shared networking is helpful when using dial-up Internet services. Virtual PC allows guest operating systems to get an IP address dynamically, as Figure 5 shows, without redialing the ISP. Several virtual machines share a single external IP address for accessing the outside network, which Virtual PC accomplishes by using integrated Network Address Translation (NAT) with a DHCP server.

That is about the best source and it is just about useless.
So. I'd go back to basics. Can you ping or use shared folders? Use the virtual machine's event viewer to look for clues. Use pathping, traceroute ?? Check for dns issues by using an IP address?
You might try a static ip in this range to test also.
IP address range: 192.168.131.175 - 192.168.131.200
Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
Gateway: 192.168.131.254
