Internet Problem I can't Get Fixed

I'm having a problem with my internet. it will connect, and show activity on the system tray icon like it's transferring stuff through the internet, but when I open Internet Explorer and try to go to any site, it says "Finding Site......"
I tried reinstalling protocals, my dsl software, and other stuff. no luck.
Try to ping something. Open a command window. Type ping 66.218.71.87, if this works...you're connected to the Internet. Then try ping www.yahoo.com, if this does not work. Then you need to check your DNS settings.

When You See Your system tray icon, right click on it and select repair. if it takes a long ass time then your tcp/ip may be funked up for the moment, if that is so try redoing the "Internet Connection Wizard" that may help restore some settings. you can also try reinstalling your network adapter(if u have one) if none of that works. Ignore this message
