Internet Prob with ZoneAlarm SS

January 3, 2009 at 01:38:23
Specs: Microsoft Windows XP Professional, 2.394 GHz / 2046 MB
Hello to ALL SENIOR MEMBERS,
I am facing a problem with Zone Alarm Security Suite 7.0.483.000 installed on Win XP.
Following are the details:
2 machines connected using a CROSS cable (names for understanding say A & B) - both having ZoneAlarm Security Suite (same ver) installed.
1)Machine A setup:
Has 2 LAN cards - 1 connected to the Broadband and the 2nd connected to the other machine using CROSS CABLE.
2) Machine B Setup:
Has 1 LAN card connected to machine A.

Problem Details:
I'm able to access internet on machine A (needless to say). But unable to access internet from machine B. I am able see all files and folder of machine A from B and vice versa.
The problem is only when B - the Client machine - is not able to access the internet. It says page not found when checked with IE/Firefox. Also Ping to any site does not work.
Please note that I have tried all the setting suggested by the GURU in the forum regarding DNS address to be set as Trusted / changing setting for Generic Host Process / Changing the ICS - NAT setting / changing DHCP and loopback setting to Trusted etc....
Have gone through multiple forums but ubable to overcome the problem
Hence the request to you - SENIOR PEOPLE - for helping me resolve the problem.
Warm Regards...bobby

Not sure what the reference "Senior People" means, but have you setup ICS?

Maybe "senior people" means all us old fogies, Jennifer. Not you young whippersnappers. ;-)

Hello,
At the outset, let me clear that SENIOR MEMBERS meant older and knowledgeable members of the forum. It is my duty to SALUTE to the knowledgeable members and learn new things from them...RESPECT.
Regarding the query for setting up ICS. I tried setting it up. But there seems to be some problem. I have followed the steps mentioned on one of the sites which has details of setting up ICS.
Infact, one of the site mentioned a link to a utility to setup ICS, but the page was not found. Can you help me set up - a detailed process if posted on the site anywhere...
warm regards...bobby
