I'm having some problems with the wireless internet in my apartment. I have a cable modem connected to a linksys wireless router. From time to time, quite frequently, the internet will stop working. My computer will say that I am connected to the internet but I can not actually get onto any websites, aim ETC. Once the router and cable modem are unplugged and plugged back in the internet will work for a period of time and then cut out again. I have a couple of splits in the cable line before it gets to the modem (two tvs) I'm wondering if this could be the problem or something with our modem or router. Please help. Thanks alot
p.s. internet and cable provider is comcast in pittsburgh PA

remove the router and just use the modem to connect with and see if the problem still exist. If not then the router is bad and should be replaced. If it still occurs then it is on the ISP to either replace the modem or fix the issue with the lines.

The first split on your cable has to have one leg go to the modem or your signal will be degraded.
