I know this is probably a small problem but for some reason my internet explorer keeps deleting my history after every day...Its set for 20 days under internet options and I cant figure out whats causing it. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi,
Does the amount of days set for also revert to less than 20 days(or 1 or 0 days) as well,
or does the history just delete?

The settings on it will go down all the way to 0 days but the history just seems to keep deleting. When I leave the computer on past midnight it will keep the history for both days but after shutting down and rebooting the computer the history is deleted.

Hi again,
It sounds as though you have somethink running that deletes your history on shutdown.Their are programs out their to do just that.If your not the only user on the computer maybe someone else has put it their to cover what they have been doing.Try running Spybot S & D and Ad-Aware.

Is anyone else using your PC? maybe they're clearing the History to cover their tracks? I always set mine to zero...what's the point of keeping all that garbage around?

I recently fixed a laptop for my wife's place of business. Everyone denied using it but obviously they don't know about history, temp internet files, etc. The history was set to 20 days & I simply showed her who had been doing what & when. Apparently someone was coming back to the office after hours & viewing porn...they ended up with all sorts of spyware, several viruses, & a porn dialer...lol

Well other than me only my brother uses the computer at random times for work but hes not tech. inclined enough to even know where you can change the internet options. Although he did tell me that he has messed with the date and time properties on the task bar to look up a date....could this possibly have triggered the history to delete itself if he moved between months?
