For the past two months I have been experiencing problems with certain web pages (i.e. yahoo, mlb.com, etc.). The graphics, both .jpg's and .gif's, on those pages won't appear. I get a little red x where the pic should be. I have searched for a resolution and most of the solutions seem to be to check to see if show pictures box is checked. It is. The problem occurs in IE6 and Netscape. I even paid for technical support from Microsoft and he told me to do a clean restore of XP, which is something I would like to avoid. This is my last hope. I uninstalled adaware a couple of weeks ago, cause I thought that was causing the problem and nothing has changed. I did a system restore to about 2 months ago, and nothing has changed. Any response would be greatly appreciated.

uninstall the internet explorer and reinstall it back on again and see if it works. and download internet explorer service pack 1.
it might be possible that you had virus in your system which could cause the problem.

The problem occurs in both Netscape and IE6. Also, how do I uninstall IE6. I already downloaded XP-SP1 which is supposed to include IE-SP1. Is there anything else I can possibly do that might solve the problem. I've had this problem for a while now, and I am curious as to why I can see images on some sites, actually most, but not on others. I would normally care less, but the sites I can't see images on I use frequently. Is there something out there that I can possibly download that might fix the problem. Thanks for your response, and I'd appreciate any help I can get.

Dave M,
Hi, this is a known issue after the instalaion of sp1 for I.E.6.
I have scoured the net for a solution myself.
You could give this a try, empty your temp internet files, this seems to work for some.
Or give this link a try Click Here this has worked for some people as well.

Please post back and let us know how you get on

Thank you for your suggestions. I tried the link and emptied the temp folder, and to no surprise they didn't work. I guess I had a unique case. I had to clean install XP, and everything is fine now. Unfortunately, it will be a long and tedious task reinstalling everything I lost. Again, thank you.
