hello - my question is regarding AOL and IE. For a month now I am unable to load any webpages whatsoever in AOL. the only thing I can access is my mail. But if there is a link in there and I click it it will not open. I have been on the phone with AOL on and off for over a month and they cant even help me. Is there someone who could give me some help regarding this issue? Thanks in advance! Kath

There are a few things that you can try. You don't need AOL software or service to keep your AOL email address. Your email can always be accessed from IE. You can even stop your AOL service and keep the address, AFAIK.

If you don't want to do that, go to the control panel, add and remove programs, highlight AOL and click remove. It won't uninstall it yet. It will list all the versions you have. Delete all but the last version or delete all of them and reinstall the latest. Multiple versions of AOL can cause a lot of problems. A few months ago, I worked on someone's PC that had over 9 versions of AOL on it. The computer was slow as mud. After I deleted them, the computer ran fine.

I have fixed the problem. I figured that some files had to be corrupted in IE so I downloaded IE7 again and restarted and opened AOL and it works!! This has been such a thorn in my side, especially dealing with AOL on the phone.....thanks again for all your help and have a great day!!
