Hi.
1)I installed a Spyware Doctor tool.
2)I ran it and removed Spyware from PC.
3)Internet Explorer 6 kept crashing after I removed Spyware. Possibly due to having programs associated with some of the Spyware. I then uninstalled the Spyware Doctor.
4)I uninstalled Internet Explorer.
5)I now cannot reinstall Internet Explorer.
6)I am trying to use my Broadband Installer disk that came with Ntl:Home to reinstall Internet Explorer 5.5.
7) When trying to install this from the disk, I get the following error message: "The Procedure entry point InternetGetConnectedState could not be located in the dynamic link library wininet.dll" - InternetGetConnectedState as far as I'm aware is the installation software from the Broadband Installer CD from Ntl. Of course, trying to find any help regarding this on their site is next to impossible.
This message has an OK button, but clicking it brings it straight back up and it will not dissapear. I have to reboot to get it to go away.
8)Is there a way that I can re-install IE off of the XP Pro CD from boot up? Someone has suggested that I can but I've never heard about it before.
9)My connection is still stable as you'd expect, its simply the browser that I cannot get to work. Any buttons that previously had the BLUE IE icon on it has turned to a file type that windows doesn't associate with.
10)The last time this happened, I couldn't get any help with the matter so had to format the disk, and I'm sure that there's an easier way to get IE 5.5/6 back on here. I cannot find a downloadable copy if IE6 to try and install (hence why I tried IE 5.5. off of my broadband disk)Any help would be heavily appreciated.
Thanks guys.
Alex

Have you ever been to Google? It's cool. I used it to find this in seconds.
Bill Gates has performed 1024 illegal operations.
I hope he's sorry for the inconvenience.

stick your xp disk in your pc. explore it. And ul probably fine ie. seup,
failing that maby you will haft to use netscape navigator to get online then try and download pestpatroll, and avg antivirus, These 2 programs should clean your pc of any un wanted viruses/trojans,
Also use JV16 power tool's To view your registry entries.
You should not remove any entries unless YOU KNOW they aint ment to be there.
apart from that you should remove any entries for internet explorer from the registry.
Then try to reinstall it Aftre restarting your pc,"EXPLORER.EXE IS NOT INTERNET EXPLORERE " EXPLORER.exe IS WINDOWS EXPLORER SO DONT DELETE IT!

Thanks guys, didn't mean to sound thick, but I did try and search on google but my computer crashed.
I have written this from work, and google is currently blocked on our web filtering as some schools that we support have kids who've worked out how to get pornographic images past our web blocker!
Thanks for everyones help, I'll go home and not sleep until this issue has been sorted out!!
Cheers, Alex
