Just clarifying previous question...

I can only have one Internet Explorer window open at a time... if I attempt to open another window it automatically closes the already open window...

For example, viewing webpage, click on link and ask for it be to opened in new window... new window opens but open window closes...

olly, You may want to try this. Open Internet Explorer/Tools/Internet Options/Advanced tab, under Browsing uncheck "Reuse windows for launching shortcuts", click Apply/OK.
