Internet Explorer suddenly closes

While surfing the net all the Internet Explorer windows suddenly close and there isn't even an error message. What should I do to get back to normal.

On clicking 'About Internet Eplorer" the version field is Version: 6.0.29002180.xp_sp2_gdr.050301-519
As i mentioned in the first post there are no error messages!

Do you have a system restore point to an earlier time when you did not have the problem?You can also google {sfc /scannow}remember there is a space between sfc and /scannow.>http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=814510
