Hi,
Who can help me please. When ever I try to start Internet Explorer. I get a message sayin "Internet explorer has encountered a problem and neet to be shut down. ...do you want to send report to Microsoft or not?". And when I click "Yes" or click "No" it closes the window immediately making it impossible for I.E to lunch. This also happens when I try to lunch other application in my system. Please who can tell me the problem and the solution to this?

Have you tried repairing IE by using add/remove programs in the control panel windows components? Select remove IE, and a repair option prompt will appear, then select repair. You can also disable error reporting after you get IE fixed.

You can remove IE, and then install IE from the XP disk. Sometimes a file corruption happens and you have to use a program like IE Eradicator to remove all traces of IE before you can do an installation that works with no errors. If it just recently happened you can also try a "system restore" to a restore point before the problem began.

Can you remember the last time it worked ok? What events led up to the failure? You could try using system restore to "go back" to that point.

If the error message was "Internet Explorer Has Encountered a Problem and Needs to Close", check out this link http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=810887

Hope this helps

Another way to check your system files that works is to open the command prompt and type sfc /scannow
(Note the space between sfc and the /)
This then compares the original system files against the ones you have installed and automatically repairs the corrupt or missing ones. Have your XP CD in the ROM in case it needs the original.
If all else fails, get a copy of Mozilla and load it on your computer and deinstall IE.

Hi,
But I used system restore and set the system (as it was before the problem began) as you guys told me but all to no avail. The most funny thing here is that this I.E has been working perfectly before but all of a sudden all these just started and the reason I just dont know.

I have the EXACT same problem. When I try to open IE or several other programs (My Computer, Control Panel, Windows Explorer, My Documents) I get the same error and the system kind of resets itself. What's the deal?
