D/L winpatrol and see what is running on your PC. Check out the IE Helpers and the start-up programs. Also there are lots of good free Spyware programs listed in the link below with basic instructions. I would suggest running those and if that doesn't clear things up for you, you may have to D/L HJT and then post your results in to http://hijackthis.de/ and then google the questionable problems and see if they are safe to remove.
