Every once in awhile throughout the day as i connect to a web page through internet explorer (we are setup on a T1 LAN) i will hear a blip and look and see another internet explorer window that is minimized. i can not maximize or restore this window. when i look at what the task bar title says, it says the following...

C:\Docume~1\Hollys\Local\Temp\627b.html

i have done a search on the internet, with not much luck. i have also done a search on my computer for this file, with no avail. i don't know if these are tied together or not, but when i run my Trend Virus scan, it comes up with a pop up box that says it found JS_Fortnight.M i have tried to clean this virus numerous times with no luck.

any ideas? think they are related?

I read an article the other day about a new virus on the scene and it had something to do with Holly, I'll look for the article and post it.

I'm new and I'm willing to learn and I'll give you advice when it's my turn

try panda or titanium.
You could try an online scan by mcafee and see what they say

AVG i use, but is really only any good in diagnosing or deleting if the virus is good kind enough to allow that.

Here is the article, I'm not quite sure if it pertains to your problem, but worth a read.

Go to TrendMicro and find and download System Cleaner, install to a file you can find. Also download the newest anti-virus definition files and unzip them to the same folder as System Cleaner. Restart your computer in Safe Mode. Run System Cleaner and set for auto clean. Delete any files it ask you to, and your virus, trojan, or worm will be cleaned up.

I do have Trend, the full version loaded on my machine.

Thank you SallyG for the article, but i don't think it applies to me.

I will go ahead and do another online scan of other virus software...and will update back.

if there is anything else, please let me know!!
