Internet Explorer not responding

In the last few weeks my computer has stopped responding when I click on some links within websites. I can access the website initially, but usually if the additional activity requires a popup, internet explorer freezes and I will get a "not responding" message. I have tried anti virus and malware software but they are not showing any infections. I have also tried turning the popup blocker off, but it doesn't fix the problem. Any ideas?

My guess would be an additional popup blocker. Have you tried going into Tools>Manage Addons(?) and turn off all extra 'features'? It really sounds like a popup blocker that is crashing your browser out.
